I just remembered that when I was in the 2nd grade and going to school in Greeley, CO in the 1977-78 school year, I met a kid at recess that looked just like "the kid on 8 is Enough". He said that he was that kid. I was in the 2nd grade, so I didn't know the actor's name and I don't remember the kid's name. Is it possible? Does anyone know where Adam Rich went to elementary school? Or at least the town or state he was in.

Adam Rich went to Chatsworth High School in the San Fernando Valley in California and jr. High there (the Valley, too.) Not sure about elementary school.

True story--In about 1977-78 I met a girl thru a pen-pal ad in a teen magazine. She went to school ( elementary ) with Adam. She got me his autograph. I forget the name of the school but I know it was in Chatsworth, CA. I still have his autograph.

yeah,he is an annoying little bugger sometime.my theory is that because the show is run daily,it (nicholas)grates on the nerves more.when the show was on once a week,people had time to forget how smarmy and saccharine nicholas was.sometimes makes me want to hit him like tommy did in the reunion movie.then i remember its just a tv show.

They just treat him like a baby ! Earlier this week, on the episode where Abby's car is stolen--he is about 9 years old. Abby makes the comment that he is ALL TUCKED IN to bed. Good gosh--who tucks in a 9 year old !!!??? Also, on the episode where Abby ( & Tom ) are managers of Nicholas' baseball team--they have his cap on sideways like he's a little rascal kid or something. I don't know any 9 year old who would put up with that. Grow up Nicholas!

I think that Tom and Abby treat Nicholas mean! They always ignore him, like last night he needed help with his homework. They never have anytime for him, becuase he is young I guess. And how come id is allowed to do almost whatever he wants? He rides his bike to David's house without ever asking, goes to secret hidouts and stuff. I guess because it was the 70's not the 90's, huh? How about last nights episode, Tommy was so smart pretending to be the F.B.I with David!

I've noticed that they let him wander off. I agree its the times. But he is too much sometimes. the only person that annoys me is the father. He was yet a bully again when it came to Nancy not wanting to go to college. Again its wise one Abby to steer him in the right direction.

Yes, Nicholas and Tom are annoying. I didn't notice during the original run. Probably because the show aired over 5 years and I was in the 4th-8th grades. But remember, there is a director and writers and for some reason this is the direction they wanted to take with both characters. Also, with regard to Tom - it was the 70's and I think the producers wanted to show his character as someone from the 'old school' of parenting in a 'new and enlightend' time.

As a parent, I don't think 9 year olds are too old to tuck in. It's just an expression anyway. She probably said "Good-night" and that's all. I always kissed my kids good-night, by the way. It's not about babying a child, but about loving him or her.

Nicholas bugged me too, but in defense of Adam Rich, he was an actor doing his job. The writers needed to cut the cutesy stuff. The whole premise of the show was unrealistic. No woman in her right mind would marry a man with 8 kids who still live at home, even though they're all grown. Unless she was desperate, of course, and with Abby's talent and brains, she would not have been desperate. I know from whence I speak, because I had a first marriage with only two step-children involved. I came out of there saying never again. With that said, I still enjoyed the show a lot. But like all TV families, with the exception of the Bunkers perhaps, it was fiction.

Nicholas bugged ME bigtime in the fire/runaway episodes that aired yesterday and today. I can't explain it.....maybe it's that bowl haircut.....I don't know, but I found myself getting annoyed when I watched his scenes (and there a lot of them). Also, what if Nicholas had decided to take Tom up on his offer of letting him go w/ Joe to the Yukon at the end of tonight's episode? Nicholas obviously thought it was a serious offer.

I've always thought of Adam Rich as a bona fide 70's superstar, right up there with Farrah Fawcett-Majors and Erik Estrada. He was immediately recognizable, with his odd-looking bangs and devious eyebrows; sort of like Mason Reese, or Robbie Rist without glasses. He brought a weird combination of innocence and glamor to the table. Recent photos show that he bears practically no resemblance to the little TV moppet; he turns 30 this year. Why aren't there more Adam Rich fans?

Ran into Adam Rich who played Nicholas in Las Vegas a few weeks ago. He was working with Dick Clark at the Las Hilton, he was working on the TNN show, Prime Time Country. I felt my age when I saw how old he is now! Time flies I guess, but he seems to be doing really well for himself!
