Exterior house set
  Sunday, 10-Sep-00 23:51:11

I have heard two different thoughts on where the exterior shots were
filmed featuring the Bradford home... one (which is more credible)
says it was a facade at the Warners Ranch and another says it was
actually a house in Sacremento which was used
when exterior shots were needed. Can anyone shed some light?
Is the house/facade still around? I know you can still see a lot
of other TV homes in and around the LA area.

I heard that the house was actually somewhere in Los Angeles, and that
it's been torn down. Seems to me someone said there's a shopping mall
there now. Don't know what street it was located on. (I live on the
East Coast and have never been to L.A. except for the airport on a
stopover on the way home from Hawaii.)

I am trying to find out where the locatio is that was used in the show.
Regarding other messages about this, I do know this much...it was not
shot at Warners. I've been on the main backlot and the ranch and it
wasn't shot there. The Waltons was shot on the main lot, and the Ranch
is famous for its neighborhood, which features the homes used in
Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie and The Partridge Family. Cool
      neighborhood, huh? :)

I was watching an episode the other day & noticed something interesting....The group had driven down the road in their station wagon ( LOL no mini van ) and I noticed a set of white picket fence-type gates on the side of the road. It looked like the crew would "close off " the road leading to the Bradford House at the end of taping..but why wooden picket gates? You call that security ? Notice it next time they show anyone driving away from the house ( back up from the driveway and the car makes a right.....)

I was so sorry to hear that the house used to film "Eight Is Enough" has been torn down. I had heard that the house was near the Warner Bros. Studios in California, so on a recent trip there I decided to try and locate it. After much detective work,I still wasn't able to find it, and now I know why. I recently made a model of the house, so at least I have that and videos of the show to remember it by. I still wish I would've had the chance to see the real house before it was destroyed....What a shame.
