      Eight is Enough is one of my all-time favorite shows, running neck-and-neck with The Munsters.
      I have collected many quotes from "Eight" through the years--about 100 in all. Although I
      never saw the show in prime time, I became a big fan during its syndication era. Here's a
      list of some of their quotes which reached #1 on my weekly top 100 quote chart
      (wording is approximate):

      3/15/85 Susan: "Do you have a girlfriend, Merle?"Merle: "If you had asked me that a couple
      days ago, I would have said no."
      4/25/86 It's not whether or not we win the contest...it's whether we find a cure for
