EiE connection on Biography

Last night I was watching the Biography of John Travolta and there was considerable
mention of his relationship with Diana Hyland and how devastated he was when
she passed away. They also mentioned that the person who first introduced him to
Scientology was Joan Prather. The two were working on a film together in the
early 70's and she used some sort of Scientology method or practice to help
heal something that was ailing him. It is also ironic that his first movie
was Carrie which was also Betty Buckley's first movie - she of course then went
on to star in EiE after Diana's death and to become close friends with Joan
Prather! Small Hollywood world I guess!

Lani O'Grady and Anissa Jones "Buffy" on Family Affair

I am researching a book about Anissa Jones, "Buffy" on Family Affair. In the course
of my research I have come across the tragedy of what happened to Lani and wanted
to offer my sincere regrets.
I have created a webpages in memory of Bobby Driscoll(Bobby won an Oscar at
age 12, yet he lies buried in an unmarked pauper's grave in New York) and Anissa
Jones, and was thinking someone might want to create one in Lani's memory.

John Ritter

I onced asked Lani whom she enjoyed working
with most, and her answer was John Ritter.
She worked with him & I believe Jamie Lee Curtis
on a Sitcom whose name escapes me. She told me
she just had to do voice overs on the show.
What a sad loss with John's passing. I've met
and worked with many people in the industry, but
he was one of my role models and I never had a chance to work with him or
meet him. I'm sure he was sad with Lani's passing, as Lani would be very
sad at hearing of his passing. She was very sad when the second
Mrs. Bradford passed. (I'm
sorry but again the name escapes me.)
So in closing, as Susanne Sommers said on
"Good Day Live" the day after John passed.
"if you have any unresolved issues with anyone,
work it out and take care of them" When John kissed his wife goodbye that
morning he had no idea he wouldn't be coming back home. Wow,
it's still hard to believe. Well, just remembering Lani & John on this Friday evening.
Take care everyone,
Carsten
Hi CD,
Enjoyed reading of your friendship with Lani - I am sorry for your loss.
I can tell you deeply miss her. I was in one of Lani's classes (a long time
ago -83') and had the pleasure of being invited back to help her with future
classes - we became close for a while, but I moved away, got married and eventually
we lost touch. I was also a client of MGA - my life took a new direction filled
with kids now 17 & 13! Glad things turned out the way they did - just wanted to
share in a moment with one of Lani's friends that even though it was a short
amount of time that I got to know her, she touched my heart with her warmth and
kindness - Hard to believe two years have passed......

Hi Jon,
Nice to meet a fellow MGA'r
Mary is retired now but what a wonderful old fashioned hands on agency she ran. It's nice
that you were able to experience it. I'm still
keeping all acting unions current but mainly do Real Estate which is another passion of mine.
Best wishes for your family!
Kind Regards,
Carsten

Somehow hearing of Lani's O'Grady's death slipped by me. I didn't learn
of it until a year after it happened - needless to say I was shocked and
deeply saddened. The first time I met her was when I was auditioning for a
TV commercial. I signed up with her Mom's agency, the MGA Agency & got to
know her better after taking one of her classes. We kept in touch for a
while, but later lost contact. There were a few occasions where we talked -
I could tell she had some issues, but don't we all? She was so kind and
warm-hearted.
So sorry to hear of your loss Mary Grady!
If Ingrid (Jochems)Holzman happens to read this - please contact me at
jforde1963@yahoo.com - thanks

Good luck if you can't find it on ebay! But, you might try this... contact the
Mary Grady Agency (MGA) Lani's mom's agency- even though she retired, you
might find a nice person who would point you in the right direction. It has
been a long time since I have been in contact with them. I am not sure if
they are still on Lankershim - here are two addresses..good luck
221 E. Walnut St.
Ste. 130
